INTENTIONAL CHANGE PROCESS

Personal Change is intentional.

Prof. Richard Boyatzis developed the Intentional Change Theory in the frame of Positive Psychology and it has been many times applied over the last four decades.

The Intentional Change Process and the Camino combine an inner and outer journey, reinforcing each other.

First Discovery - THE IDEAL SELF

This phase involves envisioning one's ideal future and understanding what is essential and meaningful to oneself.

It is a time to reflect on personal strengths, values, dreams, and passions.

Discovering your Ideal Self is not about creating an unattainable or perfect version of yourself.

It is about aligning with what truly matters to you, understanding your unique gifts and passions, and envisioning how you can bring those into your life in a meaningful way.

Second Discovery - THE REAL SELF

This stage requires an honest assessment of the current self.

Participants look at their strengths and weaknesses, comparing them with their ideal vision.

They may seek feedback from others to understand how they are perceived and where they need to grow.

Third Discovery - CREATING A LEARNING AGENDA OR A PLAN

Based on the understanding of the ideal self and the real self, individuals create a personalized learning plan.

This agenda helps guide growth and development, focusing on building strengths and addressing areas for improvement.

Fourth Discovery: EXPERIMENTING AND PRACTICING NEW BEHAVIOURS, THOUGHTS ANF FEELINGS

This phase is where the actual change begins to take place.

Individuals experiment with new behaviors, thoughts, and feelings that align with their Ideal Self.

It Is a time for trying new things, learning, and growing.

Fifth Discovery - DEVELOPING SUPPORTIVE AND TRUSTING RELATIONSHIPS

Sustainable change often requires a supportive environment.

In this phase, individuals seek out relationships that foster trust, encouragement, and positive reinforcement.

Supportive relationships help maintain motivation and provide a safe space to continue experimenting and growing.
